But the poor lighting! No way. I've worked in closets and back-bending attic spaces but I always made sure I had (or could obtain) good lighting. Now, those "sheds" you mention and link to---very nice looking but keep in mind the interiors are probably photographed with a wide-angle lens. My very first thought, however, wasn't space but HEAT! I live on the high prairie in the middle of Montana and it gets COLD here (40 below zero Fahrenheit) and the wind blows hard and constant. I'm thinking it would take a lot of wood in a stove to heat that "shed." As for me, I have a simple rectangle building I bought about 10 years ago (visit: http://poppenga.blogspot.com and scroll down on the right column 'til you see a blue building in the snow--that's my studio.) All open space except the bathroom and a short section off the back end.C S Poppengahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04388885581932402412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104059739380003822.post-22553815064027443662011-04-26T17:19:14.101-04:002011-04-26T17:19:14.101-04:00Marianna

I hope you get one, they all look lovely to me.

I am thinking about purchasing a press for monoprinting and I have a small studio as well. I am just learning about printmaking and am really loving it. I see you have a small press in your studio. Would you recommend the press that you own or a different kind of small press? I was also thinking about a PinPress, but I am not sure it would give me enough pressure to get a decent print. Any suggestions for a beginner like me would be appreciated.Mariannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15573604632180491510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104059739380003822.post-22268987656488989762010-04-03T17:05:26.085-04:002010-04-03T17:05:26.085-04:00I can surely relate to dreams of a separate studio...I can surely relate to dreams of a separate studio, Brian. Looks like you've made the most of what space you have but it's hard when that space is limited.
I hope it all works out for you with the new shed. How exciting it would be to design such a thing!Katkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07787758413391041363noreply@blogger.com
